Praise God For Pasties - A Dark Literary Thriller by Pamela G. Holmes. Valentine’s voiceovers. Hello loves! I’ve been hustling hard on hitting my goals this week. There are so many exciting things coming in the near future. 🎤🎙️🎧 This week in my Northwest Florida State College ENC1102 class, we're diving deep into symbolism, figurative language, and theme through two incredible stories: Hawthorne's "The Birth-Mark" and García Márquez's "A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings." Even though our #chicagobears won't be playing in the #superbowl, I'll still be watching. Can't wait for Green Day and Bad Bunny to take the stage. There are books you read, and then there are books that fundamentally change how you understand what storytelling can do. WIP Wednesday: 'Praise God for Pasties' is in the copyediting trenches! I'm tackling the final polish on this manuscript. Fun fact: This scene has been rewritten 4 times, and I'm finally happy with it. The difference between developmental edits and copyedits? One reshapes the story, the other makes every word earn its place. Almost ready to send this baby out into the world! 📚 This week in my ENC1102 class, we're diving into something every writer should master: how setting and style work together to transform characters. ✨ SHOUTOUT SUNDAY ✨ I feel like every artist asks themselves this question… “Is my art good enough?” Hello loves! I found my first 'novel' from middle school today. "Enlightenment during Silar's Summer"... 10 pages of pure chaos, plot holes you could drive a truck through, and an awkward teenage girl protagonist who has an uncanny resemblance to yours truly. But you know what? That messy, imperfect story taught me to finish what I start. We all start somewhere. 📚 🖋✌❤️ Coffee is flowing and lesson plans are ready! This week my ENC1102 students are in for a treat—we're exploring perspective and characterization through "Puppy" and "The Black Cat."
